A message of congratulations from Holger‑Thorsten Schubart, on behalf of every member of staff, the entire Scientific Advisory Board, and the research community of the Neutrino Energy Group.
There are days when a scientific achievement is honoured—and an entire field of research shines more brightly in humanity’s consciousness.
Today is one of those days.
On behalf of our entire community, I warmly congratulate Francis Halzen on receiving the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics. This extraordinary honour recognises his decisive contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory and the discovery of high-energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin.
These congratulations come from people who are themselves working towards an ambitious vision of the future: our colleagues, our Scientific Advisory Board, and everyone who brings intelligence, perseverance, and courage to our research.
We know what it means to take the invisible seriously. To carry an idea forward while others are still asking why it deserves attention. To spend years working towards a horizon that some only recognise once the spotlight reaches it.
Today, the Nobel spotlight shines on neutrino research. We have long given this field a place in our vision of the future.
To us, science is a great orchestra of discovery. Across nations, institutions, and generations, distinct voices emerge: particle physics, materials science, mathematics, artificial intelligence, and engineering.
Each voice has its own distinction. Some receive a Nobel Prize. Others work far from the grand stage. Together, their achievements can open possibilities that no single discipline could unlock alone.
Our overarching vision embraces this greater composition. In individual discoveries, we already hear the possibility of a new technological symphony.
We have long held that neutrinos would continue to transform scientific imagination—and that this field would help shape the future.
Today, the world applauds.
We join that applause. With respect. With joy. And with the conviction that sustained us when, for many, this horizon still seemed distant.
We welcome the world’s attention today. We have long believed there was greatness here to discover.
Neutrinovoltaics is our own technological research endeavour within this broader horizon. Our vision gives that endeavour its direction: to bring discoveries together, unlock new possibilities, and turn them into a contribution to humanity’s future.
Professor Halzen, your perseverance and scientific leadership have opened another window onto the universe. For that achievement, we offer you our profound respect and heartfelt congratulations.
The applause of this day belongs to you.
Our shared passion belongs to science.
And our gaze reaches towards the horizon where the next great symphony is only beginning.
