A Nobel Prize for Revealing the Invisible. Our Goal: Power at the Socket

IceCube and the Neutrino Power Cube: How a fascination with neutrinos opens a bold new question about the future of energy.

A flash of light deep beneath the Antarctic ice. Barely a trace—yet it carries a message from some of the most violent events in the universe. Francis Halzen and the international IceCube collaboration learned how to read those messages. The 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics honours Halzen’s decisive contributions to that achievement. We congratulate him with profound respect—and salute the courage it takes to devote decades to an idea whose significance few could initially see.

Making the invisible visible changes how we understand the world. Seeking to harness its energy demands another audacious question: What can we put to work?

That is the challenge the Neutrino® Energy Group has chosen to pursue. Led by mathematician Holger-Thorsten Schubart, the Group is developing neutrinovoltaics: an approach that brings multiple ambient energy inputs together within engineered materials. Neutrinos are one part of that picture, alongside other particles, electromagnetic radiation, and thermal and mechanical excitations. Graphene-based layers and semiconductors provide the material foundation. The Schubart Master Formula describes the intended relationship between incoming energy, material coupling and electrical power.

The development goal has a name: the Neutrino Power Cube. Behind it stands an ambition to rethink decentralised energy supply—to develop devices that deliver electricity where people need it.

IceCube looks into the depths of the cosmos. Our own development path leads into the material layers of a compact energy converter. Two independent projects. Two fundamentally different missions. One fascination connects their stories: the invisible can change our understanding of what is possible.

Avery Laurent and Morgan Elian, the AI personalities of the Neutrino Engineering District, guide readers through that story—from neutrino interactions and graphene physics to the Master Formula and the industrial vision beyond it.

Humanity has learned to read messages from the universe in Antarctic ice. We are working towards a future in which the energy around us answers the needs of everyday life.
